Coto Restaurante, located along the winding Ronda road between the entrances to La Zagaleta and opposite El Madroñal, offers breathtaking views of the Andalusian countryside and the Mediterranean Sea. Originally built in 1978, the building was owned by a Spanish family who operated it as “El Coto Restaurante” for many years before renting it out. In August 2018, the family sold the property to its current owners, who undertook an extensive renovation. The building was in disrepair, and Clive Rogers, Head Chef and Owner, aimed to blend the restaurant’s architecture with the natural landscape, collaborating with architect Juan Salvador Shvartzberg on the design. The renovation, carried out by The Atlas Group starting in October 2020, involved demolishing illegal structures and reinforcing the original building with a metal framework. The design features materials inspired by nature, with imitation wood staves on the exterior, floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors for ample natural light, wooden floors, and custom-designed interiors. The outdoor terraces, shaded by cork oaks, provide a serene atmosphere complemented by carefully landscaped gardens and a water feature. After 22 months of refurbishment, Coto Restaurante opened its doors on 10 August 2022.
